Figma shipped slot settings on June 1, giving designers guardrails they can wire directly into any component. You can now set minimum and maximum layer counts per slot, restrict slots to preferred instances only, and control whether empty slots show by default. These rules travel with the component everywhere it gets placed — no manual policing needed from the team.

Apple's Design Team: Great Systems Give Users Control Over Intensity
Ahead of WWDC 2026 (keynote June 8), Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that Apple's design team is adding a system-wide Liquid Glass intensity slider to iOS 27 and macOS 27. Users will be able to dial the translucency and visual effects up or down across the entire OS. Apple's HIG team has never before let users adjust a core visual language this way — it signals a deliberate shift in their philosophy on system design.
